Model T engine cut in half

Spotted by a friend in the camping area at Willow Springs Station, SA near the Flinders Ranges and Wilpena Pound.

The station owner had found it in the back of a shed and didn’t know a lot about it.  It was supposedly cut in half using hacksaw blades and used to run a small 12 volt generator.

Millman: Clare, Gawler, Adelaide, Tanunda

Sorry but haven’t had much to report recently, since leaving Clare we spent 3 days in Gawler, drove into Adelaide on Sunday to check the MG car display will post some photos. On the way to Gawler, the Ute decided give me something to do, had to replace manifold gasket also the battery is on its last legs will replace it today.
We are currently staying at Tanunda in the Barossa for 4days, will do a Wine and Dine tour on Wed. While driving around Tanunda we spotted a MK 1 GT Corrine, XP coupe, Mustang and some scooters in a show room unfortunately it was locked, the mechanic that works on these cars came along and let us in for a look and said the owner had a much bigger and better collection but doesn’t allow visitors. Whilst driving around the back streets I spotted a E Type and got talking to the owner who happened to own both collections and invited us to have a look, Jags Mustang, Oval window VW , Combi, Ferrari, Lambrettas, Fiat 500s and Porsches plus memorabilia. He alowed us to take photos but not to put them on any social media or sites.
That’s all for now

Millman: Whyalla to Clare

We departed Whyalla noon on Tuesday, no planned destination or route once past Port Augusta, just heading towards Clare for a couple of nights. Decided on going thru Horrocks Pass it is a pretty steep climb but the A handled it well 2nd gear about 25mph and temp 180, it is much more scenic drive than down Port Pirie to Clare. Stopped at Willmington to look at the Toy Museum ive never seen so many dinkies, meccano sets, train sets, dolls ,trikes and pedal cars, the owner has 50 Landrovers and 12 Valiants. Left Willmington for Melrose for our stop over, some very interesting accommodation at the hotel will post photos. A leisurely drive yesterday to Clare, met up with a very interesting character who owns two original unrestored but registered Whippets. He took one to China for a rally in 2011 from Beijing to Shanghai, he also has done the Gibb River rd and Arnhem land on fundraising tours – I’ll post photos of Whippets

Millman: Port Lincoln to Whyalla

We left Port Lincoln yesterday to Whyalla, visited some lovely small towns along the way Arno Bay was nice, Cowell is interesting we should have stayed there and had better look around. Staying two nights at Whyalla went to the Maritime Museum for a look got there too late for the Whyalla boat tour but they said we can join the tour tomorrow.
The ship served in the Australian Navy as J153 then later in war sailed with the British Navy as B252 will attach some photos of the Whyalla.
Off to Clare tomorrow.
Cheers
Anne and Wayne

Millman: Port Lincoln museum

Yesterday 31st August , we were invited on a run with Lincoln Auto Club out to a private aerodrome, with hangars housing some very interesting planes and other various items. The owner Micheal Hart built the hangars from recycled farm sheds, he has also built some of the planes. I will attempt to upload some of the photos.
Thanks Mike Chambers for inviting us on the run it was also a fund raiser for Leukemia, members from the auto club put on a lovely morning tea.

This photo of the Flinstone special was started yesterday and the wings flap,it is a working model

Millman, Aug 30: Streaky Bay – Port Lincoln

Haven’t had much to report on, since leaving Penong we travelled to Streaky Bay for a couple nights. Streaky Bay is an interesting place, quite scenic the new caravan park just out of town would be the best in Australia , if you’re in the area stay at the Island Caravan Park. Left Streaky Bay on Monday to Coffin Bay for a few nights, the seafood there is to die for especially the Oysters and Spencer Gulf prawns. Arrived at Port Lincoln today have met a member of the Lincoln Auto club and has invited us on a run tomorrow to private aeroplane museum and car collection, hopefully I can take some photos. Here till Sunday then onto Willmington and the Clare Valley.
